Tax Manager

Job Description 

Primary responsibilities include coordinating and compiling data with our third-party tax preparers for quarterly and year-end tax provision; along with Federal and various State income tax returns. Additionally, Tax Manager will assist with unique tax research and other special projects

Responsibilities:

  • Review the quarterly and yearly income tax provisions
  • Review Federal and State income tax returns prepared by a third-party tax preparer
  • Assist with various aspects of Federal & State income tax compliance and prepared by client items.
  • Conduct technical research on various tax and accounting matters and prepare internal memoranda to document management’s conclusions and/or manage third-party providers to perform the same. Monitor and communicate emerging tax laws; research, analyze, and quantify any impact to the company’s financial statements; maintain strong knowledge of the industry and business.
  • Ensure deadlines for income tax and financial reporting requirements are met
  • Provide tax support to external auditors as required;
  • Proactively develop tax analysis for leadership requests, and other initiatives
  • Assist with other ad-hoc projects, Tax Manager and unique accounting transactions
  • Identify areas for improvement in the tax process, including sales and use tax, property tax and implement process efficiencies

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3 to 5 years Big-4 Accounting Firm experience or 3 to 5+ years corporate tax accounting experience
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and oral and written communication skills
  • Project Management skills; must be able to drive a project forward
  • Time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and work quickly with Controller to resolve any issues
  • Must be detailed oriented while multi-tasking at a fast-paced company
  • Ability to utilize creative thinking to resolve issues
  • Must be hands-on and work effectively in a demanding environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Ability to perform technical accounting research preferred, but not required
